Georgia Deer Hunting Seasons (2025–2026)

Georgia’s deer hunting season runs from late September 2025 through mid-January 2026, with multiple hunting methods available throughout the season.

Season Dates

• Archery: Sept 13 – Oct 10, 2025
• Primitive Weapons / Youth: Oct 11 – Oct 17, 2025
• Firearms (Most Counties): Oct 18, 2025 – Jan 11, 2026
• Extended Firearms (Select South GA Counties): Oct 18, 2025 – Jan 14, 2026

Bag Limits

• 10 antlerless deer
• 2 antlered deer per season
  • One antlered deer must have 4 points on one side or a 15-inch outside spread

Legal Weapons

• Firearms season: Centerfire .22 caliber or larger (expanding bullets allowed)
• Primitive weapons during designated season

Harvest Reporting

• All harvested deer must be reported within 24 hours using Georgia Game Check
